Quilters Journey

I have enjoyed quilting for several years now although I didn't do as much as I would have liked for several years because of my work. I did get back at it again a few months ago and am looking forward to finishing all those unfinished projects. The first one is now completed. It was started  back in about 1998 and then taken up in 2010 to give our son Tim. It is called Bears Paw in the Cabin.
One of my first quilts was done in a stretch knit ...just a nine patch and I believe  our daughter still has it.I think this one goes back to about 1978 or 79.
I think my first serious quilting began in about 1981 or 2 when I found a booklet on doing "Quilt as you go blocks". So I did my first sampler type which gave me lots of opportunity to try out different things, like applique etc.

I did a Dresden plate one for her in all blues on white and lots of quilting and a little trapunto. She received this as a shower gift before she was married. This one was done entorely with a large hoop on my lap.

I have several other quilts that are in process and I will try to get picturwes and document them.
